Listen to this feeble-minded caller tell us how she's "not a racist".
Where to start?
To describe her knowledge of history as incomplete is being incredibly charitable.

She stated up front she's 90 years old. Picking on the elderly is so not cool.
Wait - I'm "picking on the elderly"? You just gave her a pass on being stupid and a racist because she's old. That's respecting the elderly?
It's OK to say what she said because she's 90? Her 90 year old vote counts just as much as yours or mine.
Sorry, I didn't specifically clarify my opposition. I think calling a 90-year old woman "feeble-minded" is unkind. That's all.
So would you have us defer to all the olds in the Senate (who would have us homos removed from society if they could) because of their age? At what age is it OK to be completely wrong?
I think ignorance, racism, and stupidity are bad at any age.
She was competent enough to call in and upbraid the "colored" man for not being sufficiently grateful for all that awesome free health care that "those people" have received over the years.
She's had plenty of time to get a grip. It's too bad that she's been around for 90 years and still thinks it's OK to say such things, but she said them very publicly and she's not exempt from criticism and mockery.
As the caretaker of an elderly couple I know for a fact that they can sound "competent" and yet the things that come out of their mouths aren't their beliefs; it's the Alzheimer's and dementia talking. Your comment about feeble-mindedness just hit a little too close to home and I apologize for even commenting in the first place. It wasn't my intention to start a pissing match. Your blog your opinion. Have at it.
I did kind of escalate - sorry about that.
I do understand your point.
